    Elysian Jeju CC

Wind: Although it sits at an altitude of 500m, the surrounding volcanic cones wrap around it like a folding screen, so the impact of the 'strong wind' that is the greatest enemy of golf on Jeju is relatively small. This is a clear point of difference among Jeju golf courses. Difficulty: Because the overall length is short and the fairways are fairly wide, it is said not to be highly difficult, but there are many reviews saying that putting was not easy due to the considerable slope of the greens.

It is the final work designed by the late Theodore Robinson, a renowned course designer who designed more than 160 golf courses worldwide, and in 2005 it was selected by Golf Digest of the United States and Golf World of the United Kingdom as Korea's first course among the World's Top 100 Golf Courses. The open-air hot spring in the clubhouse is Korea's only lagonite hot spring, rich in minerals, drawn up from 2,001 m underground.

A hilly course set in a spot gently embraced by Saebyeol Oreum, blended with a wooded stretch of European-style fairway villas. It is about 20 minutes from the airport, so its main strength is that you can round right after arriving and, on your last day, depart after a round with almost no time pressure. The difficulty is not very high and the overall length is on the short side, so it puts no burden on beginners, and course visibility is good, making tee shots and approaches to the green not difficult. It is beginner-friendly.

As in the article headline calling it a landmark course beyond a prestigious one, it is a course cited as an answer to the question of "Jeju's prestigious golf courses," and it operates a golftel and the Black Stone Hotel Resort. It was built on the site of a former ranch and quarry, on gently sloping terrain at an average altitude of 250m, and the surroundings are all Gotjawal. Because it belongs to the "lowland Gotjawal" category, the risk of fog and wind is lower than at courses in the upper mid-mountain area.

Opened in July 1979, it is among the oldest golf courses on Jeju, and it is a tournament course that hosted the KLPGA Jeju Samdasoo Masters for six consecutive years. South of the middle of downtown Jeju, the layout follows the terrain as it is along the Yeongguchunhwa Valley of Mt. Hallasan. It is 20 minutes from Jeju Airport, which makes it the most advantageous for a hotel stay + golf combination.

    Lotte Sky Hill Jeju CC

Its official positioning is that, set on low flat land at an altitude of 250–300 m with a tree windbreak structure that minimizes the effect of wind, it offers outstanding stability compared with other golf courses on Jeju. As a PGA-class course operated by Lotte, it has a reputation as a low-handicap course requiring planning and practice, and as a tough course; located just above the Jungmun Tourist Complex, it is the representative course of the Jungmun area, paired with Lotte Hotel Jeju.

At an altitude of 450m, it is surrounded by a vast grassland of silver grass, and because of the nature of the grassland the slopes are gentle, so all 18 holes can be seen at a glance from the clubhouse. There is high praise calling it the best among Jeju golf courses in terms of difficulty, enjoyment, and green and fairway maintenance, alongside complaints that, while the silver grass scenery is excellent, the front desk's management of play is somewhat lacking.

Under the slogan that it has captured the aesthetics of challenge in a golf course, it presents natural scenery in which sky and earth, water and forest, sunlight and wind are in harmony. Reviews mention a course filled with the scent of cedar trees, along with references to strong winds and fog in winter, so unlike Elysian in the same western mid-mountain area (sheltered from the wind by an oreum), it is rather exposed to wind.

With terrain that has the sea to the south and Hallasan to the north, there is little wind, and located at 400 m above sea level, there is little wind and the weather is warm, so play is possible year-round. The space between holes is vast, so the independence of each hole is thorough to the point that no two holes are alike, and most holes let you see the green at a glance from the teeing ground, making it an exhilarating, challenging course. Construction began in 1962 and the first full 18-hole course opened in 1966, this is Jeju Island's first golf course and a course from the dawn of golf course construction in Korea. It is distinctive for preserving the original terrain as it was and retaining its early form well, and because it sits where you can see the full-grown trees at the 600m level of Hallasan, the temperature is about 5℃ lower than at other golf courses on Jeju even in midsummer. On the other hand, there are reviews saying that fog was extremely heavy because it is on the mid-slopes of Hallasan, so the filming risk during the fog season (spring and the rainy season) must be taken into account.
