From Jeju International Airport to the golf courses in the eastern region is roughly 30 to 55 minutes by car. Even within the same "east," the gap is nearly twofold, and that gap is what decides whether you can fit in a round on arrival day. Here we compare five courses by hole count and drive time.
Overview of drive times to the eastern Jeju golf courses
Jeju International Airport sits on the north side of the island. The golf courses in the eastern region are scattered along an axis running southeast from the airport, with the nearer ones in Yeongpyeong-dong and Jocheon-eup in Jeju City, and the farther ones in Namwon-eup and Pyoseon-myeon in Seogwipo City.
The five courses covered here range from about 30 minutes to about 55 minutes by car from the airport. The closest, The Siena Jeju Country Club and Ecoland Golf Club, are about 30 minutes; the farthest, Shineville Park Country Club, is about 55 minutes. That spread is not something a day's schedule can absorb. Count the round trip and it doubles, and that time is what determines whether an arrival-day tee time is possible.
So rather than treating the eastern region as a single block, it is more practical for scheduling to split it into a 30-minute group and a 45-55 minute group from the airport.

Drive times from the airport for five eastern golf courses
Location, hole count, elevation, turf and drive time from the airport for all five, in order.
The Siena Jeju Country Club (formerly Jeju CC) is in Yeongpyeong-dong, Jeju City, at 2695 516-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. It has 18 holes and sits at an elevation of 600m. The turf is mixed: Korean lawngrass on the fairways, cool-season grass around the greens and in the rough, and bentgrass on the greens. Construction began in 1962 and the first full 18-hole course opened in 1966, it was Jeju Island's first golf course and dates from the dawn of golf course construction in Korea; its distinguishing feature is that it preserves its original terrain and retains its early form well. Set where you can see the great old trees of Hallasan's 600m zone, it runs about 5°C cooler than other courses on Jeju even at the height of summer. That said, there are reviews reporting very heavy fog, as it sits on the mid-slopes of Hallasan, so the fog season in spring and the rainy season carries a filming risk to account for. About 30 minutes by car from the airport.
Ecoland Golf Club is at 1278-169 Beonyeong-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju City (Daeheul-ri). It has 27 holes and sits at an elevation of 350m. The course is optimized for no-caddie two-player rounds, and it was the first in Korea to manage its course without chemical pesticides, in an eco-friendly pesticide-free way. It preserves as much as possible of the Gotjawal forest known as Jeju's lungs, and reviews note its striking Mediterranean-style clubhouse. About 30 minutes by car from the airport.
The Classic Golf & Resort is at 1105 Namjo-ro, Namwon-eup, Seogwipo City. It has 18 holes, sits at an elevation of 350m, and the turf is bentgrass. Designed by the Jack Nicklaus Design Company in a primeval forest zone at 350m above sea level, it officially opened in 2008. It is known as a course with a strongly refined, classical character, and reviews repeatedly say its fairway turf is the best of the Jeju courses they have played. Some reviews also say it is a course that makes you use all 14 clubs. About 45 minutes by car from the airport.
Springdale Golf & Resort is at 459 Seoseong-ro, Namwon-eup, Seogwipo City (Wimi-ri). It has 18 holes, sits at an elevation of 350m, and the turf is a mix of Korean lawngrass and cool-season grass. The official description says that, located at 350m above sea level, it is cool in summer and sheltered from the wind by Hallasan in winter, making rounds possible in all conditions year-round. Nearby Wimi Port is where vessels take shelter during typhoons, so this course too tends to be free of wind in winter, and it is said to see no sub-zero weather even in midwinter. About 50 minutes by car from the airport.
Shineville Park Country Club is at 384 Gasi-ro, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo City (205 Gasi-ri). It has 18 holes, sits at an elevation of 80m, and the turf is bermudagrass overseeded with ryegrass in autumn. On flat lowland at 80m above sea level, it holds above-freezing temperatures year-round and sees little effect from snow, fog or wind. Because palm trees grow vigorously below 100m above sea level, this course has an unusual number of them, and reviews describe it as feeling like arriving on Hawaii's Big Island. It is counted among the first choices for a winter round. About 55 minutes by car from the airport.

Comparison table of drive times to eastern Jeju golf courses
Listed in order of proximity to the airport.
- The Siena Jeju Country Club (formerly Jeju CC) — Yeongpyeong-dong, Jeju City / 18 holes / 600m elevation / mixed (Korean lawngrass fairways, cool-season grass around greens and in the rough, bentgrass greens) / about 30 minutes by car from the airport
- Ecoland Golf Club — Jocheon-eup, Jeju City / 27 holes / 350m elevation / about 30 minutes by car from the airport

Why drive times differ even within the same region
The first reason is the administrative district. The two courses in the roughly 30-minute group, The Siena Jeju CC and Ecoland, both belong to Jeju City, in Yeongpyeong-dong and Jocheon-eup. The three at about 45 minutes or more are all in Namwon-eup and Pyoseon-myeon in Seogwipo City. Since the airport is in the north, the moment you cross into Seogwipo City's administrative district the drive time steps up a level.
The second reason is elevation. The five courses spread from 80m to 600m. The Siena Jeju CC sits at 600m on the mid-slopes of Hallasan, so while it is close to the airport in distance, the road climbs the mountain. Conversely, Shineville Park is on flat lowland at 80m yet is the farthest from the airport at about 55 minutes. Low elevation does not mean close, and close does not mean flat.
The third reason is the difference in course character that elevation creates. At 600m, The Siena Jeju CC runs about 5°C cooler than other courses on Jeju even at the height of summer, but being on the mid-slopes of Hallasan it carries fog risk in spring and the rainy season. At 350m, The Classic, Springdale and Ecoland fall in the mid-mountain zone, and Hallasan shields Springdale from the wind in winter. At 80m, Shineville Park holds above-freezing temperatures year-round and sees little effect from snow, fog or wind.
In other words, choose on drive time alone and you miss the seasonal conditions; choose on seasonal conditions alone and the schedule falls apart. If you have decided to put Shineville Park in for winter, it is safer to lock about 55 minutes each way into the schedule first and fit everything else around it.

Criteria for fitting in a round on arrival day
An arrival-day round succeeds or fails on the time left between landing and the first tee time. What affects that is baggage claim, getting into the vehicle, and the drive. Of those three, the only one you can fix in advance on an itinerary is the drive time.
The roughly 30-minute group, The Siena Jeju CC and Ecoland, leaves the most room for tacking on a same-day round. Ecoland in particular has a 27-hole layout and is optimized for no-caddie two-player rounds, which makes it well suited for small groups to slot in on arrival day.
For the roughly 45-55 minute group, one way alone comes close to an hour. The Classic is about 45 minutes, Springdale about 50 and Shineville Park about 55, so it is less of a stretch to place them as the main round from the second day onward and use the first day for travel and check-in.

Frequently asked questions
Questions we hear often about drive times and building a schedule.
- How long does it take from the airport to the eastern golf courses — From Jeju International Airport it is about 30 to 55 minutes by car. The Siena Jeju CC and Ecoland are about 30 minutes, The Classic about 45, Springdale about 50 and Shineville Park about 55.
- Can I play a round on arrival day — Looking purely at drive time, the roughly 30-minute group of The Siena Jeju CC and Ecoland leaves room in a same-day schedule. However, whether a round can actually be arranged is separate from drive time. We do not guarantee a booking.
- How does a group vehicle change the drive time — The times in this article are based on driving from the airport to each course. Vehicle arrangements based on party size and baggage are explained on inquiry, in line with your schedule.
- How should I plan the departure day — The basis is to work backward from your departure flight time by the one-way drive time from the course of your last round. A course that takes about 55 minutes, like Shineville Park, leaves different margins on the return day than one about 30 minutes away, so it is safer to decide the course first and then fit the schedule around it.
