6 Golf Courses Near Jeju Airport, Sorted by Drive Time

엘리시안 제주 CC 전경

What ultimately determines how many rounds fit into a Jeju itinerary is the time it takes to get from the airport to the course. Using Jeju International Airport as the starting point, we have organized six golf courses between 15 and 30 minutes away by car in order of drive time, and attached the remaining conditions such as hole count, elevation, and turf.

What to check first when looking at airport access

Saying a course is close to the airport means two different things depending on the situation. One is whether you can fit in a round on your arrival day; the other is whether you have enough time to get to the airport after finishing your round on the final day. In both cases, the drive time by car is the benchmark.

That said, choosing a course by drive time alone makes it easy for an itinerary to fall apart. Here we put airport drive time first, then compare hole count and location, elevation, and turf type alongside it. Hole count is directly connected to whether a group can all play at once, while elevation and turf offer clues for gauging course conditions by season.

Even within Jeju City, directions split between areas such as Aewol-eup, Oranam-ro, Bonggae-dong, Odeung-dong, and Jocheon-eup. Because the distance you actually feel changes depending on whether you book lodging downtown or near the course, location deserves a look too.

6 golf courses near the airport, in order of drive time

These are organized from the shortest drive time by car from Jeju International Airport.

  • Golfzon County Ora — about 15 minutes by car from the airport. A 36-hole course at 130-16 Oranam-ro, Jeju City, at an elevation of 350m, with Kentucky bluegrass on tees, Bermuda grass/ryegrass on fairways, and bentgrass on greens. Opened in July 1979, it is among the oldest golf courses in Jeju, and it is a tournament course that hosted the KLPGA Jeju Samdasoo Masters for six consecutive years. Located just south of central Jeju City, its layout follows the terrain of the Yeonggu Chunhwa valley of Hallasan as it is, which works in favor of combining a hotel stay with golf.
  • Elysian Jeju CC — about 20 minutes by car from the airport. A 36-hole course at 1738-116 Pyeonghwa-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju City, at an elevation of 500m, with imported cool-season turf. Although it sits at high ground, the surrounding parasitic volcanic cones wrap around it like a folding screen, so the strong winds that are the greatest enemy of Jeju golf have relatively little effect. The course is said not to be very difficult, as it is short in overall length with fairways on the wide side, but many reviews mention that putting was not easy because of the considerable slope on the greens.
  • Everis Golf Resort — about 25 minutes by car from the airport. A 27-hole course at 1693-75 Pyeonghwa-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju City, with Korean zoysia turf. It is a hilly course set in a spot cradled snugly by Saebyeol parasitic volcanic cone, blended with a forest of European-style fairway villas. Its headline strengths are that there is almost no time pressure either for a round immediately on arrival or for departing after a round on the final day, and since the difficulty is not that high and the overall length is on the short side, it is less demanding for beginners. Visibility across the course is good, making tee shots and approaches to the green manageable, which makes it a beginner-friendly course.
  • Lahenne CC — about 25 minutes by car from the airport. A 27-hole course at 237-5 Bonggae-dong, Jeju City, at an elevation of 400m, with bentgrass turf. Its signature slogan is that even in the depths of winter when heavy snow falls all around, rounds still begin at Lahenne, and the club puts its winter strength front and center. Some say that while it is beautiful, the course is very difficult.
  • Hallasan Country Club — about 25 minutes by car from the airport. An 18-hole course at San 57, Odeung-dong, Jeju City (street address 56-46 Seondolmokdong-gil), at an elevation of 400m, with imported turf. Set on the mid-slopes of Hallasan, it opens up a view of Hallasan from every tee box, and particular care was given to the layout from the design stage to block midwinter wind and the cold that comes with the terrain. Reviews also single out the crisp air on the skirts of Hallasan and the accessibility of being close to the city as strengths.
  • Crown Country Club — about 30 minutes by car from the airport. A 27-hole course at 125 Bukseon-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju City (San 65, Bukchon-ri), at an elevation of 60m, with imported turf. Sitting at the lowest elevation of any golf course in Jeju, it sees little wind effect and any snow melts quickly, so it is counted as a mecca of domestic winter golf where rounds are possible year-round. Because it is a basin close to the sea, even heavy winter snow melts within a few hours, so there are almost no snow closures, making it a golf course in Jeju with a high open rate.

Points to note when interpreting drive times

All times listed here are based on driving from Jeju International Airport. They can change depending on road conditions, so rather than copying the times straight into your itinerary, it is safer to leave some margin.

There are also stretches where the difference in drive time is not large. Everis Golf Resort, Lahenne CC, and Hallasan Country Club are all about 25 minutes, but they lie in different directions — Aewol-eup, Bonggae-dong, and Odeung-dong respectively. If your lodging is already set, the actual routing works out differently even when the drive time is the same.

Conversely, even Crown Country Club, the farthest, is about 30 minutes, so the spread across the six is within 15 minutes. With a difference of this size, hole count or the character of the course often weighs more heavily on the decision than drive time. For example, the 36-hole courses are Golfzon County Ora and Elysian Jeju CC, while the single 18-hole layout is Hallasan Country Club.

How to factor drive time into a group itinerary

Since a group moves all together, the shorter the time from the airport to the course, the simpler the first and last days become. If you are considering a round on your arrival day, Golfzon County Ora at about 15 minutes and Elysian Jeju CC at about 20 minutes are easy to plan around. Everis Golf Resort presents as a strength that there is almost no time pressure either for a round immediately on arrival or for departing after a round on the final day.

With a large number of players, hole count needs to be considered as well. With 36 and 27 holes, there is more room to send groups out one team at a time at staggered intervals, while an 18-hole layout keeps the routing simple but packs the flight assignments more tightly.

Seasonal conditions also affect an itinerary. For a winter trip, Crown Country Club at an elevation of 60m sees little wind effect and any snow melts quickly, so there are almost no snow closures. Lahenne CC highlights that rounds begin even in the depths of winter, and Hallasan Country Club highlights a layout that takes winter wind and the cold of the terrain into account. Elysian Jeju CC sits at a high elevation of 500m yet has relatively little exposure to strong winds thanks to the surrounding parasitic volcanic cones.

Drive time checklist

The items below are worth sorting out on your own before requesting a quotation.

  • Arrival flight time and departure time on the final day — add the drive time from the airport (about 15 to about 30 minutes) to work out the schedule for your first and last rounds.
  • Lodging location — if you are staying downtown, the routing is shorter toward Oranam-ro, Odeung-dong, and Bonggae-dong in Jeju City, while Aewol-eup and Jocheon-eup lie in a different direction.
  • Total number of players and desired number of flights — decide which suits you among 36 holes (Golfzon County Ora, Elysian Jeju CC), 27 holes (Everis Golf Resort, Lahenne CC, Crown Country Club), and 18 holes (Hallasan Country Club).
  • Timing of the round — for a winter trip, look at elevation together with how each course handles winter.
  • Course difficulty — if beginners are in the mix, distinguish between courses said to be less demanding, such as Everis Golf Resort, and Lahenne CC, which some say is very difficult.
  • Turf type — check the grass by area, including imported turf, Korean zoysia and bentgrass, and sort out any preference in advance. Ora uses Kentucky bluegrass on tees, Bermuda grass/ryegrass on fairways, and bentgrass on greens.
  • What to include in your inquiry — having the items above sorted out speeds up putting the routing together.

What is not included in a quotation and what to confirm

This article covers only drive times from the airport and course conditions. Cost items and operating conditions are not covered here, so they need to be confirmed separately at the inquiry stage.

We do not guarantee a booking. We do not guarantee the lowest price.

Please also confirm whether airfare is included in the quotation. Drive times are reference values for travel by car, so when transferring them into an itinerary it is best to always add some margin.
