Comparing 6 Jeju 27-Hole Golf Courses — Location, Airport Transfer Time, Course Conditions

에버리스 골프리조트 전경

The golf courses operating with 27 holes on Jeju are six: Everis, Booyoung, Blackstone, Ecoland, Volcano and Ananti. The number of holes is the same, but location, driving time from the airport, elevation and turf all differ. We have organized only the verified items here.

What a 27-hole layout changes about an itinerary

A 27-hole layout is made up of three 9-hole courses. In a single round you play a combination of some of the three courses, so even if you book two days at the same course, you can take a different combination of front and back nines. For an itinerary that keeps one base of accommodation and cuts down on travel, this makes a real difference.

The variable that weighs more heavily in itinerary design is distance from the airport. Everis Golf Resort is about 25 minutes by car from Jeju International Airport, and its own course introduction presents as a leading strength the fact that, being about 20 minutes from the airport, there is almost no time pressure when playing a round right after arrival or departing after a round on the last day. Booyoung Country Club, by contrast, is about 50 minutes by car, so placing it mid-itinerary is more natural than on the first or last day.

Here we compare by number of holes and travel time. The other conditions we have broken out as location, elevation and turf in the table below.

6 Jeju 27-hole golf courses

The six are scattered across the west and east of Jeju City and the southern part of Seogwipo. Their characters do not overlap, so the choice changes depending on which day of the itinerary you place them.

  • Everis Golf Resort — 1693-75 Pyeonghwa-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si. A hilly course set in a spot cradled by Saebyeol Peak, blended with a wooded cluster of European-style fairway villas. The overall length is on the short side and course visibility is good, so tee shots and approaches to the green are not difficult, and it is said to be beginner-friendly. The turf is Korean lawngrass.
  • Booyoung Country Club — 960 Namjo-ro, Namwon-eup, Seogwipo-si. Located in Jeju's mid-mountain area, it is little affected by wind, snow, fog and rain, and is presented as a 27-hole nature-friendly course with views of numerous volcanic cones, Mt. Hallasan and the sea. It is said to have a high proportion of island residents and local golfers, reasonable rates and frequent events. Elevation 300m, a mixed type with Korean lawngrass fairways and cool-season grass on the tees, rough and greens.
  • Blackstone Golf & Resort — 925-122 Hanchang-ro, Hallim-eup, Jeju-si (San 54, Geumak-ri). It was built on the site of a former ranch and quarry, on gentle terrain at an average elevation of 250m, and is surrounded entirely by Gotjawal forest. Being of the low-lying Gotjawal type, its fog and wind risk is lower than at courses higher in the mid-mountain area. It operates a golftel and the Blackstone Hotel Resort alongside the course, and the turf is bentgrass.
  • Ecoland Golf Club — 1278-169 Beonyeong-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si (Daeheul-ri). It is a course optimized for no-caddie two-player rounds, and it practices pesticide-free, eco-friendly course management without chemical pesticides, the first in Korea to do so. It preserved the Gotjawal forest as much as possible, and its Mediterranean-style clubhouse is said to be impressive. Elevation 350m.
  • Volcano Golf & Resort — 1391 Sanroknam-ro, Seogwipo-si (Jungmun-dong). It positions itself as an international course for professional golf players, highlighting views of the sea off Seogwipo and Mt. Hallasan, and newly renovated green turf. With the sea to the south and Mt. Hallasan to the north, the terrain means little wind, and it is introduced as being warm enough for year-round play despite sitting at an elevation of 400m.
  • Ananti — 445-55 Seonyu-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si. It forms the only four-season natural evergreen forest belt in the country, so warmth rises in winter and cool air in summer, maintaining an annual average temperature of 15.5℃. At a low elevation of 50-160m, it is almost unaffected by snow, wind and fog. The turf is Halla cool-season grass and Gimnyeong Korean lawngrass.

What to look at alongside the number of holes

All six have the same number of holes, so the actual choice comes down to other axes. The first is distance from the airport. Everis, the closest, is about 25 minutes, and Booyoung, the farthest, about 50 minutes — close to double the difference. If you are thinking of fitting in a round on arrival or departure day, this number comes first.

The second is elevation and weather conditions. Ananti, at a low elevation of 50-160m, is almost unaffected by snow, wind and fog, and Blackstone, of the low-lying Gotjawal type at an average elevation of 250m, has lower fog and wind risk than courses higher in the mid-mountain area. Booyoung is in the mid-mountain area but is described as little affected by wind, snow, fog and rain, and Volcano explains that despite sitting at an elevation of 400m, the terrain between the sea to the south and Mt. Hallasan to the north means little wind and warm conditions. For a winter itinerary, it is better to read this part first.

The third is turf. Everis is Korean lawngrass, Blackstone is bentgrass, Booyoung is a mixed type with Korean lawngrass fairways and cool-season grass on the tees, rough and greens, and Ananti is Halla cool-season grass and Gimnyeong Korean lawngrass. Since this is the item that changes the feel of the lie and the green, it is worth referring to when putting several courses into one itinerary.

The fourth is the round format and the character of the course. Ecoland is presented as a course optimized for no-caddie two-player rounds, and Everis is said to be beginner-friendly with its short overall length and good visibility. Volcano positions itself as an international course for professional golf players. Checking whether your group's makeup fits these is more useful than weighing up the number of holes.

Checklist for choosing by number of holes

Working through these in order before you plan the itinerary narrows the candidates.

  • Are you fitting a round into arrival or departure day — if so, start with the places with short travel times, like Everis at about 25 minutes from the airport.
  • Are you playing two or more days at the same course — with 27 holes, you can arrange a different combination of the three 9-hole courses.
  • Is it winter or a season when you are concerned about changeable weather — read the weather-related descriptions for Ananti (elevation 50-160m), Blackstone (elevation 250m), Booyoung and Volcano first.
  • Are there beginners in your group — refer to the view that Everis, with its short overall length and good course visibility, is beginner-friendly.
  • Do you want a no-caddie two-player round — Ecoland is presented as a course optimized for this format.
  • Are you looking to handle accommodation on site — Blackstone operates a golftel and a hotel resort alongside the course.
  • Do you need to match turf types — Korean lawngrass, bentgrass and cool-season grass mixed types differ by course.
  • Real-time booking availability requires separate confirmation.

If your numbers and dates are set, move straight on to a group itinerary enquiry. Corporate & Groups

What the number of holes means for a group round

A group divides into several flights. A 27-hole course has three 9-hole courses, so there is wide scope for splitting and placing flights. How this actually plays out, though, depends on the course's operations, so flight arrangement and the start format are items to confirm together at the enquiry stage.

Travel also weighs more heavily for a group. It is not one vehicle but several on the move, and time is added for people to gather and disperse. The difference between Everis at about 25 minutes from the airport and Booyoung at about 50 minutes feels longer on a group itinerary than on an individual one. Keeping the accommodation at the centre and choosing courses within that radius is the safer approach.

There is something to be clear about regarding quotes. We do not guarantee a booking. We do not guarantee the lowest price. It is best to check item by item when you enquire what is included in and excluded from a quote, starting with whether airfare is included.

If your group's makeup is mixed, one approach is to split courses of different character across two days. With a group that includes beginners, you might put the shorter course first and the course the more experienced players want later.

Frequently asked questions

We have answered only with confirmed content.

  • How many 27-hole golf courses are there on Jeju — the confirmed ones are six: Everis Golf Resort, Booyoung Country Club, Blackstone Golf & Resort, Ecoland Golf Club, Volcano Golf & Resort and Ananti.
  • What is the layout of 27 holes — it is made up of three 9-hole courses. In a single round you play a combination of some of the three courses, and the specific course assignment is up to the course's operations.
  • How does a group decide on the number of holes — rather than the number of holes, it is more useful to settle first on numbers, flight arrangement and travel time between the accommodation and the course. A 27-hole course has three 9-hole courses, so there is wide scope for arrangement, but the actual assignment and start format are confirmed at the enquiry stage.
  • What should I check besides the number of holes — travel time from the airport (Everis about 25 minutes, Ecoland about 30 minutes, Blackstone about 40 minutes, Volcano and Ananti about 45 minutes, Booyoung about 50 minutes), elevation, turf type and round format differ by course. Other conditions we will confirm when you enquire.
